BaptistCare has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire The Grange Lifestyle Village in Wagga Wagga, a premier retirement village.
The village will be the second BaptistCare owns and operates in the Riverina region, alongside Watermark Village, and is the organisation’s eleventh village across NSW and the ACT.
Located in Lake Albert, Wagga Wagga, The Grange Lifestyle Village is on 20.51 hectares and has 159 independent living villas with 13 unique floor plan designs. It is well-positioned to local amenities and the Wagga Wagga township.
BaptistCare will take over operation of the village in mid-March.
“We’re excited to be welcoming The Grange Lifestyle Village, its residents and employees into the BaptistCare family,” said BaptistCare CEO Charles Moore.
“For all of the wonderful amenities in this high-quality village, what we’re most enthusiastic about is the opportunity to share BaptistCare’s approach to care and retirement living with residents and their families.”
“Community is something that holds so much value to BaptistCare and our employees, and it will be this approach that will see us extend our vision of every individual living well with residents at The Grange.”
BaptistCare has provided care and services to the Riverina region for over 40 years across the aged and community services space.
“The Grange Lifestyle Village joins BaptistCare’s comprehensive suite of services in the Riverina region, including our 200 strong team providing aged care at Caloola Centre, home care services, respite care at Towner House, as well as Watermark Village and our HopeStreet caseworker providing support to people living with disadvantage,” said Mr Moore.
“The Grange site also offers surplus land available for future development. We see strong demand in the region for this style of accommodation, and we’ll be looking to bring the next stage of development to market to meet this demand.”
“Despite the challenges of a somewhat dislocated aged care sector, there is opportunity for aged care providers to grow. BaptistCare is looking to expand its services within geographical clusters to enhance the continuum of care journey for our residents and clients.”
“Clearly this acquisition, alongside our recent commitment to the $27m renewal of our new aged care home, BaptistCare Caloola Centre – just under 4km away from The Grange – is an active demonstration of this strategy and one we’re very pleased to be seeing come to fruition in the Riverina region.”
