TLC Healthcare has appointed Helen Toohey as their new General Manager of Early Learning, and she will be joining the TLC Early Learning team on 26 April 2022.
Helen comes to TLC with over twenty years of education and early childhood experience. She has been the lead educator of Haileybury private school for the last five years and is an experienced lecturer, trainer and teacher.
Helen holds a Master of Education from Melbourne University, a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma of Education. She is also a member of the Reggio Emilia Information Exchange and the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
The CEO of TLC Healthcare, Lou Pascuzzi, is excited to have Helen join the team.
“Helen’s extensive experience and passion for early learning make her a vital addition to Team TLC. Helen will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role, and is the perfect leader to deliver TLC’s innovative intergenerational platform to market. I look forward to welcoming Helen to the team.”
TLC Healthcare’s latest development in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Mordialloc will incorporate a 120 place early learning centre alongside a 150 place residential aged care home, community medical centre, commercial health club, swimming pool and café. Due for completion in November 2022, TLC’s new development is the first time this range of intergenerational care services have been offered in one location by a single provider.
This latest development expands on TLC’s integration and aged care deinstitutionalisation strategy that has seen them combine community medical centres, gymnasiums and swimming pools with their aged care homes. Child care is a new endeavour for TLC and a natural progression for the organisation.
Lou Pascuzzi says, “The opening of our first early learning centre is an exciting progression for TLC. Given the synergies between child care, aged care, and primary care, it is a logical evolution for our organisation to enter the early learning field.”
In addition to their Mordialloc location, TLC is also developing another multigenerational care precinct in the Melbourne suburb of Ivanhoe East. Offering sweeping views of the Melbourne CBD, and a unique range of community services, this development will be completed in 2023.
