BlueCross Appoints New Chair, Mr Rob Dalton

on Tuesday, July 5, 2022

BlueCross has today announced the appointment of Mr Rob Dalton as its new Chair of the Board. Mr Dalton joins the BlueCross Board with more than 35 years’ experience in commercial and transactional roles as well as 25 years as an Advisory and Assurance Partner in Big 4 Accounting and Consulting firms.

He also brings with him valuable experience from the sports industry navigating the enormous challenges triggered by the global pandemic.

” For the last two years I have represented my country in sport.  But rather than on the playing field, I have undertaken the role as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), Sport Australia and the AIS,” Mr Dalton said.

“The pandemic resulted in the most challenging period globally for the sports sector, with the cancellation of both the Tokyo Olympics, and Paralympics in 2020.

“After years of service to sport I am keen to lend my hand to the health sector and specifically Aged Care.”

Mr Dalton has accumulated nearly 30 years of volunteer committee and board service, offering expert guidance, advice and direction to organisations that rely on volunteer boards such as The National SIDS Foundation, Centre for Hearing Impaired Children, Victorian College of the Arts and Monash University.

Mr Dalton explained the importance of giving back to the community.

“It feels like the right time to give my time and experience to BlueCross as an exceptional Aged Care provider,” he said.

‘The team at BlueCross is leading the way in providing high quality Aged Care and that is something that I am keen to help foster and grow.”

BlueCross is equally pleased, with CEO Ingrid Harvey thrilled with the new appointment.

“We are excited to welcome Rob to the Board. His wealth of experience and diverse commercial knowledge will be a wonderful asset to the organisation,” she said.
