Lifeview’s Positive Ageing Celebration Event is Back

After two longs years Lifeview’s Positive Ageing Celebration (PAC) was back bigger and better this week. Residents and their families were invited to a magical Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Springvale Town Hall on 20 October 2022. Greeted by characters from Alice in Wonderland, they enjoyed a High Tea, entertainment and most importantly, dancing!

The event saw over 200 people including residents, family and staff attend the magical afternoon. With professional singers, staff in Alice in Wonderland costumes, gorgeous decorations and a magician entertaining the residents, the afternoon was buzzing, and the dancefloor was full.

Lifeview’s PAC has been a highlight of the Horizon Happenings lifestyle program for many years, however, like many events, has been on hold due to the pandemic. 

“Seeing the smiles of the residents and tears of happiness and joy proved what a great job we have done in keeping our residents safe over the last few years.”, shared Annitta Macauley, Social Support & Events Manager, who even shed a few tears when seeing the joy on the resident’s faces.

Since its inception in 2011, Lifeview's annual PAC has grown from strength to strength, with many fun-filled days and afternoons of celebration and laughter. The event coincides with the Victorian Seniors Festival making it a fitting time to come together, to recognise and show appreciation to all residents for the achievements made in their lives.

At one point a resident had to be wheeled out on his 4WW because he refused to leave. Some residents attended who usually don’t come out of their rooms. Not only did they attend but they were up dancing. A great success for everyone involved.

“It was so much fun, I had the best time and I want to thank everyone who was involved in this”, said Lillian Liddy, a resident at Emerald Glades.

This event was the perfect occasion to bring residents, families, and staff together to celebrate positive ageing and have fun. Lifeview is committed to always providing the best for its residents, by following their unique L.I.F.E. Principles: Laugh, Integrity, Focus and Engage.
