Making A Difference At Arcare Caulfield

Arcare Caulfield had a visit from the Glen Eira Council and Mayor, Cr Jim Magee, on Monday 10th October 2022 to recognise and celebrate the changes being made within the community.

The Glen Eira Council have newly upgraded and installed a bus stop out the front of Arcare Caulfield (Kooyong Road, Caulfield, Victoria), as previously the area was known to have many road accidents and was deemed to be unsafe.

Arcare Caulfield resident, Leo Bloumis, noticed a few hazardous road issues within the Caulfield area as of late and recognised that something needed to be done for everyone to feel safe on the roads.

“Leo has always wanted to make changes and have an impact within the community” Steve Bloumis (son) said.

The project started with Leo initially writing letters and reaching out to the Glen Eira Council to express his concern for the area and proposed new ideas to ensure that everyone remained safe and secure in the environment. From here, Leo and the Council had several meetings with Project Engineers, Robert Jankovski and Jessica Windad, over a long period of time to ensure that the appropriate measures were in place.

“It was a long process, but it was all worth it” Project Engineer, Robert Jankovski said.

Leo was so grateful for everyone’s assistance and help that was provided along the way. “I couldn’t have done this without the support of the team members at Arcare, Mr Magee, Robert and Jessica and of course my family and beautiful wife, Daisy” Leo Bloumis said.

After a long journey to get the job done, Arcare Caulfield are excited to announce the upgrades within our area and are proud to be a part of these community changes.

“Leo is known for his innovative ideas and thoughtfulness here in the Arcare Caulfield community. His caring nature has led to such great success and hopefully many people will benefit from the new bus stop upgrades” Arcare Caulfield’s Residence Manager, Mitchell Nalty said.
