The Resthaven Westbourne Park ladies’ group were delighted to head out on the Resthaven bus for a day of viewing art. Lifestyle Coordinator, Rachael Ross, says, "We get up to lots of things each week, such as craft, knitting and baking—whatever it is the group is interested in doing."
"Recently, the group had been discussing their interest in going on a day trip to take advantage of the sunshine. We thought it would be a great opportunity to take the ladies on an art exhibition tour for the day, to experience something new together."
"We first went to the Hughes Gallery at the Fullarton Park Community Centre, to check out their current exhibition, ‘Inflorescent’ by Judy Morris."
"Residents enjoyed viewing the number of floral artworks that were created using coloured pencils."
"We then hopped back on the bus again, and visited a local retirement village, where they are currently hosting ‘Art Expression’, a collection of 109 artworks by professional visual artists, emerging artists and 14 artists from Living Choice."
"Residents spent time looking at all the wonderful artworks before sitting down to have afternoon tea at the café."
"On the way home, the ladies commented that it was a lovely afternoon spent together."
"We look forward to incorporating more day trips with the group in the coming sessions."
