Arcare Brighton Making ‘Great Strides’ for Cystic Fibrosis Community Care

On Wednesday 1st November, residents from Arcare Brighton walked to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis and donated the proceeds to Cystic Fibrosis Community Care. They walked the lovely Kamesburg Gardens and a representative from CFCC, Lisa, also attended as a special guest speaker, making the day that much better.

Afterwards they had afternon tea and refreshments. Pure Food Co, an innovative gourmet pureed food company, offered taste testings of their new smoothie product to residents, team members and Lisa.

Karen, Arcare Brighton's Lifestyle Assistant (pictured) said, “As someone living with Cystic Fibrosis, it was so very special that my workplace, Arcare Brighton, were happy to support me in raising awareness and much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis Community Care. The attendance at our Arcare Brighton Great Strides fundraiser was awesome, with three other Arcare Residences joining us on the day for the event.

"It was wonderful to see our clients eager to participate, some walking and others assisted in wheelchairs, doing the course we had marked out, and then enjoying some well-deserved refreshments. It was so successful and lots of fun for both our clients and staff, I have a feeling it may become an annual event Arcare Brighton will host and grow!”
