Vasey RSL Care Expands Support for Veterans with DVA Veterans’ Home Care Program

In a significant development for the veteran community, Vasey RSL Care has recently been awarded a contract to provide services under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program. This expansion of services reflects Vasey RSL Care's commitment to serving those who have served our nation and comes as an addition to their existing provision of the Federal Government’s Home Care Package Program.

What Does VHC Offer?

The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program is designed to enhance the health, wellbeing, and independence of eligible veterans and their families within the comfort of their own homes. The comprehensive range of services offered by Vasey RSL Care includes:

• Domestic Help: Assisting with household chores to maintain a clean and organised living space
• Personal Care: Providing support for personal hygiene and grooming
• Respite Care: Offering temporary relief for primary caregivers, ensuring they can take much-needed breaks while their loved ones receive quality care
• Home and Garden Maintenance (Safety-Related): Addressing safety concerns within the home environment to prevent accidents or injuries
• Lawn Mowing (Not Required to be Safety-Related): Ensuring the external surroundings are well-maintained for the overall safety and aesthetics of the home

Who Is Eligible for VHC?

The VHC program is specifically tailored for individuals requiring low levels of care, excluding those in need of high or complex care. Eligible recipients must meet the following criteria:

• Possession of a Veteran Gold Card or a Veteran White Card with an accepted service-related condition
• Residing at home and in need of low levels of care
