Penny Pancake visits Resthaven Malvern

On Tuesday 13 February (Shrove Tuesday) Penny Pancake visited Resthaven Malvern, where residents and staff were holding ‘Pancake Day’ celebrations to raise money for UnitingCare organisations.

Resthaven participates in this iconic fundraiser every year, with residents and clients across many Resthaven locations tucking into delicious pancakes with a variety of mouth-watering toppings.

 

‘Pancake Day has always been special for me as part of the Christian story and the beginning of Lent,’ Resthaven Malvern resident Sylvia Wallyn-Cross says.

‘This year it is bringing back memories of my mother cooking pancakes.’ ‘We love Penny Pancake,’ Resthaven Malvern resident Shirley Kanally says.

‘It is nice to have the volunteers here as well.’ ‘My favourite pancakes are with lemon and sugar – the old-fashioned way,’ Resthaven Malvern resident Glennis Adam says.

‘It’s a lovely get-together and the flowers and the table settings all look lovely. The yellow brings in such sunshine.’ Jane Abbot,Relieving Manager Resthaven Malvern, says ‘Pancake Day is a wonderful part of our calendar, and we appreciate the work our Lifestyle Coordinator Felicity Tucker, as well as our volunteers and staff from head office, have put in to make the event a success.’
