Marguerite Noellat, known to all as Mickey, is a resident at Arcare Helensvale St James in Queensland. Turning 102 in December, Mickey has lived a full life with many stories to tell.
Born in Paris in 1922, Mickey is the first in her family to pass 100 years. As a mother to two girls, a grandmother of four, and a great grandmother of three, Mickey has had an active professional and personal life.
Mickey joined the French Army post WW2 where she met her husband, then moved to the South Pacific where she was a conference secretary traveling the Pacific.
Before her husband’s passing, the pair were married for 62 years and lived in three countries: Vanuatu for 20 years and New Caledonia for another 20 before moving to Australia where Mickey has lived for the past 37 years.
Her secret for living to 101?
“Hyperactivity, independence, stubbornness, reading, travel, good food and a daily glass of wine and scotch.”
