Carinity Welcomes New CEO

on Wednesday, May 29, 2024

Queensland not-for-profit aged care provider, Carinity, has appointed Kevin Griffiths as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Kevin has joined Carinity following an extensive 30-year career in international airlines. Since returning to Australia, Kevin worked for Aveo and the Uniting Church.

Kevin said he was excited to join Carinity in its 75th anniversary year.

An outreach of Queensland Baptists, Carinity’s services include residential aged care, retirement villages, home care, disability support, chaplaincy, alternative education, and youth and family services including counselling.

“From humble beginnings, Carinity has grown into a significant organisation, touching the lives of thousands of people,” Kevin said.

“We exist to show God’s love through the care we offer to those in need. We make a real difference to those around us – not just by what we do but by why and how we do it.”

Carinity Council Chair, Richard Wray, said Kevin has a passion for the impact that faith-based not-for-profit organisations make in the lives of the people they serve.

“Kevin is passionate about people, customers, strategy, and technology. He has a heart to work with and through people to achieve great things,” Richard said.

“His personal faith, integrity, skills, and experience are a good fit with the unique requirements of the role. We are keen for him to lead an expansion of the impact Carinity has on people across the state.”

Kevin succeeds David Angell, who was the Carinity Interim CEO for over 12 months.

Carinity operates 11 aged care communities and five retirement villages.
