Celebrating You This Aged Care Employee Day

RSL LifeCare has marked Aged Care Employee Day by celebrating the achievements, compassion and commitment of team members in residential care, retirement living and home care across NSW and the ACT. Aged Care Employee Day is celebrated on 7 August every year in Australia, and is a day dedicated to appreciating the hard work of invaluable individuals. 

Aged care employees, encompassing frontline staff to behind-the-scenes teams, play a critical role in an individual’s aged care journey and enhance the quality of life for seniors, and older veterans who may be in RSL LifeCare’s care. Unlike most professions, aged care employees not only provide care services, but also acts of compassion and kindness that deserve respect and recognition. 

Nurses and care workers, allied health professionals, laundry staff, cleaners, cooks, lifestyle coordinators, gardeners and administration teams all deliver safe, high quality, compassionate care to RSL LifeCare residents and clients. 

RSL LifeCare employs over 3,800 staff providing services to more than 9,500 people. Its footprint stretches across 60 sites, including 27 retirement villages, 29 residential care facilities and 4 Veteran and Family Hubs, with an additional 5 hubs under construction. 

RSL LifeCare CEO, Janet Muir, said the organisation celebrated the day by issuing personalised ‘thank you’ cards and certificates for leaders to recognise their team members, distributing a gift for every team member, on-site and digital recognition options for residents and their families, and celebrations across the different locations.
