A former lawyer, Ms Pryor is the Chief Risk Officer, Wealth at AMP. She joined the Benetas Board in 2019, bringing more than two decades of experience in legal, governance, risk and compliance fields.
Ms Pryor is highly experienced in risk and compliance management and corporate governance within the financial services sector, bringing a tactical and pragmatic approach to overcoming obstacles. She has a track record of leading businesses through major transformations and regulatory reforms.
Ms Pryor is well equipped to lead Benetas’ next chapter with her knowledge, experience and her strong focus on the customer.
“I am honoured to be taking on the role of Chair of Benetas, and look forward to continuing and building on the good work achieved by Michael, Sandra Hills and Benetas during Michael’s tenure as Chair,” Ms Pryor said. “I am deeply committed to the mission and values of Benetas as a leading not for profit provider of aged care services in Victoria.”

Mr Urwin will serve on the Board for another 12 months, culminating in nine productive years where his valued counsel has helped usher in a range of initiatives that have benefitted residents, clients, family members and employees.
The former Brighton Grammar School headmaster has brought a wealth of experience to Benetas, specifically in administration, governance and leadership.
He has helped Benetas navigate and thrive during a time of increased focus on the aged care sector’s standards and practices, particularly during the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
During the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Urwin led with great empathy and care as the organisation responded to and managed the day-to-day threat and impact of the virus on older Australians and their families.
Under his leadership, Benetas has instigated a range of positive changes, including the new Bendigo affordable housing refurbishment St Laurence Court, which will start welcoming residents in early 2025.
He continues to be committed to improving the lives of older people, supporting and promoting the work of his peers and colleagues and fostering a caring, inclusive culture at Benetas and more broadly throughout the aged care sector.
“I never cease to be amazed at the dedication of staff in the aged care sector and particularly at Benetas. It has been an honour to serve as Chair over the past six years,” Mr Urwin said.
