Care Connect Celebrates 30 Years of Care

on Wednesday, February 26, 2025

This year, leading Australian home care provider, Care Connect, is proudly celebrating three decades of helping seniors remain independent at home and live the life they love. Established in Melbourne 30 years ago with a mission to prevent older Australians from premature admission to residential care, today Care Connect is one of Australia’s largest independent providers of in-home care services.

“We’re thrilled to be celebrating thirty years of helping Australians age with confidence and independence,” said Care Connect’s CEO, Lynda Chalmers.

“We are incredibly proud of the social impact we’ve made in communities around Australia, enabling more than 85,000 people across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland to enjoy greater freedom, choice, and wellbeing, no matter where they are on their care journey.”

With access to one of Australia’s largest networks of care workers, Care Connect offers a range of inclusive and culturally appropriate services tailored to individual needs, including personal care, household assistance, nursing, allied health services, and social support. It also provides clients with guidance on navigating an often-complex aged care system and developing personalised care plans.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, Care Connect will be hosting a series of local morning and afternoon teas to celebrate clients and their families, care partners, and staff. Clients and their families will be able to meet and socialise with other local Care Connect clients and build connections within their local community.

The first events kick off in NSW, starting with Wollongong and Little Bay in March, followed by events in Glenwood and St. Ives in April.

“The local events are not just an opportunity to celebrate thirty years of care. They’re also a chance for our clients, their carers and their families to come together, socialise and build meaningful connections,” said Ms Chalmers.

“Social isolation is a critical issue for senior Australians, so having the opportunity to simply share a cuppa and have a chat can make a significant difference to our clients’ sense of connection and wellbeing.”

Looking ahead, the organisation has big plans for 2025 and beyond, including growing Care Connect’s direct-care workforce to meet increasing demand.

“The next few years will bring a lot of positive change—both for us as an organisation, and for the aged care sector broadly.” Ms Chalmers added.

“We’re excited for what’s to come and remain committed to ensuring our clients receive the care they need to live the life they love.”
