Catholic Healthcare’s Vision for Kincumber Aged Care Takes Shape

Growthbuilt, Catholic Healthcare’s construction partner, hosted a Topping Out ceremony with representatives from both organisations gathering to witness this significant milestone in the construction of Catholic Healthcare’s new residential aged care home at Kincumber on the New South Wales Central Coast.

The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as a towering crane lifted a Magnolia tree above the development, lowering it gently into the ground to herald the commencement of the ceremony held on 13 February 2025. ‘Topping Out’ has a long history in the construction industry and commemorates the placement of a building's final steel beam and the planting of a tree.

’We have designed our aged care home at Kincumber to not just be a place to live; it will be a sanctuary that will foster a strong sense of community,’ said Peter Paltoo, Catholic Healthcare’s Chief Property Officer.

With the roof now complete and the building taking form, Catholic Healthcare and Growthbuilt remain on track to complete construction and have the home operational in late 2025. At the heart of the 102–bed home are two beautifully designed wings that offer generous and inviting living spaces for our residents to relax and socialise.

The ground floor features a vibrant central link that will serve as the hub of community life. Within this beautiful space, there will be an inviting cafe where friends and family can gather over coffee, as well as a versatile multi-function room where residents can participate in events and activities.

Residents will also be free to indulge their passions, whether it involves a pampering session at the salon, working on their health and wellness in the state-of-the-art gym, or finding spiritual connection in the serenity of the onsite chapel.

The new residential aged care home represents an exciting addition to the Kincumber area. With its prime Central Coast location offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, the living experience is enhanced by a strong connection to nearby nature.
