Community Options - Home Care Packages

Home Care Packages provide coordinated aged care services which aim to help you stay in your home. Funding for these packages is heavily subsidised by the Australian Government.

There are four levels of support available under Home Care Packages Program:

• Level 1 – Basic care needs
• Level 2 – Low-level care needs
• Level 3 – Intermediate care needs
• Level 4 – High-level care needs

To access services as part of a Home Care Package, you first need to call the My Aged Care Contact Centre on 1800 200 422 to determine if you are eligible for this level of support.

For eligible individuals, the ACAT will determine which package level will best suit your needs. Your package level determines the subsidy amount paid by the Australian Government to your chosen Home Care Package provider but the government also expects individuals to contribute to the cost of care where you can afford to do so.
