Ozcare's Townsville Day Respite Centre offers a diverse range of activities designed to cater to the physical, mental, and social needs of participants. The centre provides various physical activities such as gentle exercises, Tai Chi, indoor games, carpet bowls, ten-pin bowling, dancing, movement to music, outdoor games, croquet, mini golf, and bocce. For mental stimulation, the centre offers crafts, shuffleboard, word games, puzzles, group quizzes like Scattegories and Family Feud, and board games such as train dominoes, cards, canasta, euchre, 500, cribbage, sequence, and Rummikub. Participants also have access to technology, including computers, enhancing cognitive engagement and learning.

Social activities are abundant, including discussion groups, reading groups, concerts, school group visits, guest presenters, product demonstrations, and outings. The centre also hosts art events, painting classes, horticultural therapy, and community events like Seniors Week, Disability Action Week, and Indigenous events. These activities are accessible to everyone, regardless of age or impairment, and the centre also provides access to allied health services for Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) clients, ensuring comprehensive care and support.

  • Hate Speech: We do not allow reviews that advocate against people based on their ethnic origin, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or age.
  • Aged Care Reviews is not a complaints system. Reviews must be fair and reasonable. Any defamatory statements reflecting a personal experience that has not yet been taken up with the respective provider will not be accepted.
