’279,000 Australians Denied Care by 2050? Says Aged Care Body

Aged care body Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) has launched a new campaign ‘3 million reasons’ to highlight how many Australians could miss out on aged care services by 2050.

“If the workforce is not supported 279,000 Australians will be denied care by 2050” said Patrick Reid, CEO of LASA.

The campaign is titled ‘3 million reasons’ to represent the current three million Australians aged 65 and over.

Modern plans for The Whiddon Group Easton Park

Aged care and community care provider, The Whiddon Group have announced plans to redevelop and upgrade their Easton Park residential aged care facility in Glenfield.

The redevelopments will begin at the end of this year according to CEO Lee-ann Irwin. “2013 is an exciting year for Whiddon as we continue to upgrade our Glenfield site” said Ms Irwin.

 

Aged Care Western Australia: New CEO for Southern Cross Care

Southern Cross Care WA has appointed Mr Errol Turner as its new CEO, replacing Mr Stuart Flynn who is stepping down after 15 years of service.

Mr Turner will start from today and work with Mr Flynn until the 12th of July this year to ensure a smooth transition.

“We are pleased to appoint Errol as CEO following the Board’s rigorous selection process” said Southern Cross Care Chairman Mr John Bryant. “The Board is confident that it has selected a CEO with a superior track record of organisational leadership and experience” he said. Mr Bryant also acknowledged the contribution Stuart Flynn has made to the organisation.
