LGBTI Inclusion Award for UnitingCare Ageing

UnitingCare Ageing was recognised for achievement in LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) workplace inclusion at the ‘Pride in Diversity’ Luncheon and Awards last Friday 17 May. As a new category in 2013, it is the first to receive the Not-For-Profit LGBTI Workplace Inclusion Award.

 

Modern plans for The Whiddon Group Easton Park

Aged care and community care provider, The Whiddon Group have announced plans to redevelop and upgrade their Easton Park residential aged care facility in Glenfield.

The redevelopments will begin at the end of this year according to CEO Lee-ann Irwin. “2013 is an exciting year for Whiddon as we continue to upgrade our Glenfield site” said Ms Irwin.

Aged Care Events: ‘Bring it to the Table’ for Dementia

Alzheimer’s Australia is encouraging people to participate in their ‘Bring it to the Table’ fundraiser to raise money for Alzheimer’s Australia’s fight against dementia.

Alzheimer’s Australia is asking people across Australia to invite their friends, family members or work colleagues for a high tea, sit-down dinner, games night or picnic in June, to help raise awareness of dementia and raise funds for services and research. Alzheimer’s Australia has over 20 fundraising ideas on their website to spread the word about dementia in the community and raise funds which may one day lead to a cure for the disease.
