Most of us enjoy reminiscing about the past and for seniors this can be an especially beneficial and enjoyable past-time. When we take the time to encourage and listen to someone re-tell a story from their past, we see them come alive with the memory. As part of Mother’s Day celebrations, Moran Sylvania carers decided to collaborate with residents on a project called Memories of My Mother.
Today is International Nurses Day, an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the enormous contribution nurses and other healthcare workers make to Catholic Healthcare and our communities each and every day. Catholic Healthcare thank nurses for their professionalism, dedication and kindness in caring for residents, clients and patients, particularly during this current time.
Marking International Nurses Day is always important but this year it takes on a whole new meaning. Nurses around the world will be recognised for their incredible dedication; their professionalism; and their enormous personal sacrifice for the good of us all. To say thank you and show their appreciation The Residents at The Royce and Royce Manor spent Monday this week cooking up a storm, baking and icing cookies that were hand-delivered to Nepean Hospital just in time for morning tea.
Residents at Regis Nedlands woke up to the sound of music as one of the resident’s granddaughters surprised the home by performing below their balcony. Community initiatives like this really make a huge difference during these challenging times.
