It was with much excitement that a group of residents and carers from St Bede’s Residential Aged Care in South Hurstville headed off on Catholic Healthcare's first MyWish outing for 2021.

Catholic Healthcare Coolamon Villa resident Laurie has the most spectacular view from his bedroom window. At sunrise, the hot air balloons, off on their morning flight, drift slowly across the horizon and 89-year old Laurie loves to watch them go by.
Annette has been a Catholic Healthcare client for the past seven years. Living in a lovely two-bedroom unit in Coffs Harbour close to her family, she enjoys spending lots of special time with her loved ones. But life hasn’t always been like this for Annette who spent nine years living alone in a motel in Woolgoolga with no driver’s licence, no car, no public transport and feeling very isolated.

Yvonne’s journey with Catholic Healthcare began in 2017 as a Home Care client living at Lendlease’s Henry Kendall Gardens Retirement Village on the NSW Central Coast. As her clinical needs became more complex with Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Yvonne spent a couple of weeks in respite at Our Lady of Loreto Gardens Residential Aged Care Home in Hamlyn Terrace, where she now permanently resides. Yvonne is grateful to Catholic Healthcare for the care and services she has received over the past few years. Here is her story.

Jenny Worley has spent over 30 years serving the Hunter region in residential aged care and the community. She is passionate about helping others and says her current role as a Community Worker with Catholic Healthcare, assisting clients to stay independent at home for as long as possible, is an absolute privilege.
