Australia’s top aged care sector professionals have been recognised, with 14 finalists announced in the 2016 HESTA Aged Care Awards.
The Turnbull Government has announced that Sussan Ley will continue on with her role as the Minister for Health, Aged Care & Sport. Ms Ley said in a statement, "It is an honour to be reappointed. The Turnbull Government has developed a bold and ambitious health reform agenda needed to deliver a first-class, universal health system and I thank the Prime Minister for the opportunity to continue this important work."
Advocate, Author and International Speaker, Kate Swaffer, will share insights from the inner perspective of a person living with dementia at 'Stories of Me - A dementia forum connecting experience and theory', to be held this September during Dementia Awareness Month.
Uniting is installing solar panels at 27 aged care facilities in New South Wales and the ACT. The $2.6 million project will see up to 389 panels installed at individual aged care homes in the Sydney, Hunter/Newcastle, North Coast and ACT regions.
