With 70 individual rooms, all with an ensuite bathroom, and two respite beds, Avondrust Lodge is MiCare’s largest aged care residential home, and is located in Carrum Downs, just a short drive from Port Phillip Bay.
As with MiCare's other lodges and manors, it is divided into smaller groups of rooms, with dedicated staff for each group, so that relationships are maintained, known faces are on hand and the staff have an ongoing, experienced eye for how each Elder is travelling, physically, mentally and emotionally.
If a registered nurse is required, there is one on site, ready to help.
As well as featuring comfortable chairs, Avondrust Lodge’s living areas also have large tables so that Elders can share their meals, and conversation, while all of these things can be pushed back to give performance groups room to move, such as a regular clog dancing troupe.
Single Room accommodation with Ensuite supplied with a height-adjustable single bed, mattress, bed linen, bed side table. Each room is bright with lots of natural light and built-in robes. The rooms have carpet throughout and a fully equipped bathroom. Each resident is encouraged to bring their own furniture and furnishings to make their room as homely as they wish. This could include a favourite chair, television, pictures, books and personal belongings.
