Woy Woy Community Aged Care

6 Kathleen Street, Woy Woy, New South Wales, 2256

Woy Woy Community Aged Care is a public benevolent charitable organisation established for the provision of accommodation, care and comfort for the frail and aged. The facility is located adjacent to Woy Woy General Hospital, as well as Brisbane Waters Private Hospital. It is a short walk to the bus stop and two kilometres from the regional shopping centre and railway station.

Our mission is to provide quality residential care services for the aged in our community in a manner which recognises and respects the rights, needs and dignity of each individual in a happy and caring environment.

Nursing Home – High Care
Care is provided to nursing home residents by registered nurses, enrolled nurses and care service staff. Registered Nurses are on site 24 hours a day.

The residents’ rooms are a combination of 4 bed, 2 bed, single rooms and single rooms with ensuites. The meals are served in the two nursing home dining rooms or, if required in the residents’ rooms. Rose Cottage is the secure dementia specific in our nursing home.

Hostel – Low Care
The 40 bed hostel has four wings. Kathleen Cottage is a secured dementia specific wing, which provides for the needs of residents with early stages of dementia. The area provides a safe secure environment, which allows for the independence of the residents within the facility.

The three other hostel wings are divided into 10 resident rooms with ensuites. Each wing has its own lounge area with refrigerators and tea and coffee making facilities. These wings are joined by a large combined dining room and activities area.

The large single hostel rooms feature:

  • Built in wardrobe, fixed dressing table with drawers and shelving
  • Modern well lit ensuite bathroom with handheld showers and grab rails
  • Emergency vital call system, with emergency alarms in the bathroom and bedroom
  • A small external patio area.

Care is provided to the hostel residents by personal carers who assist residents with their day to day needs. Registered nursing staff are on site 24 hours a day.
