MercyCare recently welcomed their newest aged care residents, staff members and volunteers, following the acquisition of four Belrose Care facilities in Western Australia.
Celebratory morning teas were held at each of the facilities located in Joondalup, Kelmscott, Maddington and Rockingham and offered a great opportunity for residents, family members and staff to meet with senior MercyCare staff including Chief Executive Officer Chris Hall.
A simple ceremony was held at each morning tea which included a didgeridoo performance by MercyCare’s Aboriginal Consultant Ken Hayward, followed by the lighting of candles and a few words of blessing.
Mr Hall said MercyCare wanted to ensure that all former Belrose residents and their families, as well as new staff, felt welcome.
“Our residents’ care and wellbeing is of paramount importance,” he said.
“MercyCare has worked very hard to ensure this acquisition has been as seamless as possible, with no disruption to residents’ care.
“We are committed to ensuring that the new facilities will continue to operate to the existing high standard of care, and that residents and staff continue to be consulted going forward.”
