MercyCare Celebrates International Volunteer Day

on Wednesday, December 7, 2016

To show their appreciation and thanks for their hardworking volunteers' help and support during the year, MercyCare hosted the Annual Volunteers get together, which was held at the Community Centre at Mercy Village.

About 70 volunteers gathered for a day of fun, laughter and music. The entertainment was supplied by one of MercyCare's volunteers Cedric Collars, a retired aircraft avionics engineer, who dedicates his time to both Davis and McAuley House, but who also is a very talented singer and Yamaha keyboard player. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed his singing and playing which set the tone for this worthwhile celebration.

MercyCare are always in need of great volunteers who are passionate, dedicated, and get along well with their staff and clients. Eacy year MercyCare is faced with new community challenges where more individuals and families find that they are in need of their services. It’s only with the added assistance of a dedicated team of volunteers that MercyCare can rise to meet the challenge.
