New Package Launched To Fill Home Care Gap

Older people waiting for a Commonwealth Government home care package can now access new support, thanks to Amana Living.

Currently older people can experience a delay of a few months between an ACAT assessment and the Commonwealth Government allocating a home care package. This can leave people without much needed support.

Amana Living’s Value Interim Package provides five hours of home care per week for services such as personal care, domestic assistance and meal preparation.

Instead of waiting for their home care allocation, older people will be able to receive the home care services straight away. It is not dependent on government allocation and can be used until the home care package from the Commonwealth Government has been approved.

Existing package holders and Amana Living clients will also be able to purchase top-up services as part of the Value Interim Package too.  This can be of particular assistance if they are waiting for a higher level package to be approved.
