Freedom's Got Talent

on Tuesday, October 31, 2017

The stars were out last week at Freedom Aged Care's community at Morayfield, for a fun-filled social event, Freedom’s Got Talent.

Joined by visiting residents from the Clayfield and Albany Creek Freedom Aged Care communities, the day kicked off with a talent quest, where residents and their care team showed off their special skills, from singing and dancing to magic tricks.

After the judging and a gold-coin raffle, the on-site kitchen team served a three course Oktoberfest-themed lunch, including German sausage, sauerkraut and pretzel entrée and a strudel desert. The on-site team who organised the day had covered the entire dining hall in Bavarian themed decorations and pink, with proceeds from the raffle being donated to Aveo’s charity of choice, Project Pink.

To round out the day’s entertainment, members from the Scorpion Line Dancers QLD club performed a line dancing routine, and some residents and team joined in as well.

Freedom offers a simple sense of community, and Freedom communities across Australia are made up of neighbours and friends - vibrant communities of fellow residents and teams including carers, cooks, cleaners, nurses, coordinators, therapists, maintenance staff, gardeners and admin. Freedom encourages their communities to do what they love and continue to have a sense of playfulness and purpose.
