Embracia in Moonee Valley Hosts the Chinese Minister for Ageing

on Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Last week, Embracia in Moonee Valley hosted 20 delegates from China along with the Chinese Minister for Ageing and the Aged and Community Coordinator from Melbourne Polytechnic.

Melbourne Polytechnic is a registered training organisation that Embracia partners with to host students on their placement program. These students complete up to 200 hours of training with Embracia as part of their qualification in Aged Care.

These students commence their training in our lifestyle team, and then progress into personal care work. Students are an important part of the Embracia ethos, with many going on to become full time employees in their care team.

Melbourne Polytechnic also works closely with several training organisations in China and advises them on teaching aged care principles.

These Chinese delegates came to Australia to look at Melbourne Polytechnic’s teaching methods and how they coordinate both theory and practice for students. They were keen to see how the Australian aged care industry operates, and given the organisations' close working relationship, Embracia were asked to host the delegates and tour them around their newest aged care home in Moonee Valley.

The majority of delegates were teachers accompanied by an English translator. Embracia staff said that they were particularly honored that the Chinese Minister for Ageing was part of the entourage, and that he was suitably impressed with the quality of Embracia Moonee Valley and the level of care they provide their residents.  The delegates were all amazed by the size of the new aged care residence and the space that Embracia residents are offered in their private suites.

The day provided a great opportunity for many shared learnings in aged care practices and teaching as well as a great chance for Embracia to showcase their stylish new aged care home.
