TriCare Opens Stunning New Waterfront Aged Care Residence on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast

on Thursday, June 14, 2018

TriCare has set a new standard for aged care living on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with the opening of a $30 million state-of-the-art wing to Kawana Waters Aged Care Residence by Sunshine Coast Mayor, Mark Jamieson.

Offering residents stunning views of the Mooloolah River, the purpose built 80-bed extension leads the way in changing aged care perceptions with a focus on luxury resort style living, high quality care and the latest in clinical technology.

TriCare Aged Care Manager, Daniel Aitchison says the new extension raises the bar in aged care living on many levels offering the latest in premium aged care accommodation and five star hospitality.

“Our Kawana Waters Aged Care Residence has always experienced strong occupancy, with an ongoing demand for availability. With the addition of 80 new beds, we are making a positive step towards addressing the aged care needs of the Sunshine Coast community,” said Mr Aitchison.

The new wing offers residents spacious luxury accommodation with European style ensuites, individual climate controlled air conditioning, German designed and built automated bed recliner, large wall mounted flat screen TV with Foxtel and wifi.

“Moving forward, TriCare has committed $100 million to new developments in the aged care market across Queensland and Victoria.

We believe this investment meets the demands for a higher standard of care from residents and their families, along with creating jobs within our local communities,” he said.

Complete with a cafe, beauty and hair salon, elegant internal water feature and fresh nutritious meals prepared daily by the on-site chefs, the new extension provides a very modern take on the future of aged care living.

“We want our residents to enjoy everything that Kawana Waters has on offer, from the restaurant quality meals to the stylish lounge areas with floor to ceiling views throughout the building.

It’s important to us that our residents feel relaxed and at home here,” said Mr Aitchison.

TriCare Kawana Waters Aged Care Residence will showcase the new wing to the Sunshine Coast community at an open day on Saturday June 16 from 10am.
