The countdown to Christmas began on a high note at St Brigid’s Green seniors community as residents and guests got dressed up in their best formal wear to attend Opera on the Green. The annual twilight event was held on 6 December on the Village Green of Greengate’s Maroubra village. Over 300 guests were tantalised under the stars by the beautiful voices of Blake and Rebecca from Opera Australia.
The Deputy Mayor, Cr Danny Said, was amongst the audience seated on the green, and some residents chose to enjoy the show from their exclusive box seats, also known as their balconies. Greengate’s CEO, Ralph Warburton, said “you need only have looked at the smiles and warmth of all who attended to see what a special night this was for our residents and the local community.”
St Brigid’s Green’s head chef, Allan, brought a touch of Italy to Maroubra, with the crowd enjoying an Italian feast and glasses of bubbly. Both guests and the village team thoroughly enjoyed the opera, with many making the most of the fun opportunity to partake in a glamourous social event from the comfort of home.
St Brigid's Green has an Open House every Monday from 10am-12pm, visitors are welcome to stop by and take a look at the available retirement apartments and surrounding community areas.
