Cr Michelle Kleinert and Kevin Andrews MP were among the special guests who helped officiate the opening of Arcare Templestowe in March. It was just under two years ago, on a rainy May day, that Michelle and Kevin stood on the site of Templestowe alongside CEO Colin Singh and Victorian construction manager Dennis Hogan for the sod-turning.
During the speeches, guests gazed up at the striking pitched ceiling while Dennis spoke about ‘The Chatterbox’, the bespoke light-fitting of glowing golden prisms that are reminiscent of the origami game played by children.
Following on from a successful official opening, almost 2,000 attendees enjoyed the public open day on Saturday 23rd March. With many having seen the residence being built on their daily commute, guests were interested in viewing all the features the building has to offer.
In small groups led by Arcare team members, guests toured the residence from the alfresco café and internal courtyards, to dining rooms, lounges and suites.
After the tour, attendees enjoyed complimentary Messina Gelato, treats from Sweet Greek, tea and coffee. For those wanting to relax, free manicures were offered in the hair salon while free neck massages from on-site physios were happening in the lounge.
Arcare chefs, lifestyle coordinators, residence managers; as well as financial planners and doctors were available for attendees to chat to on the day and discuss any questions regarding aged care.
