Jobs and Lifestyle the Key as The Royce Enters Stage Two

on Monday, September 23, 2019

Regional employment and inclusive community values are the driving forces behind Penrith’s newest retirement and aged care community, The Royce. With stage one open and the second stage of construction on the $100 million development now underway, The Royce is rapidly cementing its place on the city’s urban landscape.

The development, owned by Tulich and being built by Richard Crookes Constructions, generated more than150 construction jobs during stage one with most of the roles continuing through into stage two. Once fully operational in 2020, The Royce is also expected to support more than 50 positions across fields such as nursing, hospitality, management and personal carers.

Tulich Director Maurice Tulich said it was important for both the retirement living and aged care to embrace the community within which they are being developed.

“We are aiming to create a residential and care community that meets the needs of the Penrith population into the future and so we are pulling out all stops in relation to lifestyle that offers our future residents plenty of choice,” he said.

“We’ve put our 30 years of experience into the design of this precinct and it is important to us that we give back to the community by creating jobs not only while we build, but by developing viable career paths for locals as we become fully operational."

“By creating a strong, engaging workforce in the future, we can deliver to our independent living residents a luxurious and innovative environment that allows them to live the life they desire."

“At the same time, our aged care residents will be able to access flexible living spaces, holistic individual care plans and quality care.”

It is anticipated construction of the six-storey, second stage of The Royce will be completed by September 2020 and will include an additional 87 retirement living apartments, a hair and beauty salon, private residents and members’ bar and allied health rooms.
