TLC Healthcare confirmed today that they have undertaken COVID-19 testing of all of the staff and residents at their residential aged care home, Forest Lodge in Frankston North, and all tests have returned a negative result.
CEO of TLC Healthcare, Lou Pascuzzi says “Our on-site TLC Primary Care medical centre team have done an incredible job, acting expediently and proactively to test everyone; with over 400 tests conducted in just 2 days.
“I would also like to thank the dedicated and professional nursing and care team at Forest Lodge, who have worked tirelessly over the last few days to ensure that our COVID-19 precautions have been implemented. We would also like to thank the people who have sent us many kind and supportive messages regarding the coordination of our efforts.
“It was disappointing that the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced this investigation prior to test results being received, and sections of the media reported it as an ‘outbreak’. This has caused significant distress amongst staff, residents and resident family members. However, this is consistent with the questionable approach that the DHHS and certain sections of the media have adopted, and continue to practice, in the management and reporting of COVID-19 in residential aged care.”
TLC operates 11 residential aged care homes and medical centres located across Melbourne and Geelong; and at the time of this press release, remains COVID-19 free at all sites.
