Former AMA federal president and prominent health leader, Associate Professor Rosanna Capolingua has been appointed to the Catholic Homes Board.
The appointment boosts the organisation’s medical and clinical expertise from A/Prof Capolingua’s many years of leadership experience in senior healthcare roles at executive and board levels, Chief Executive Paul Andrew said.
Rosanna chairs the Western Australian Immunisation Strategy Committee and is a board member of St John of God Healthcare; and AMA (Ltd) and the AMA Indigenous Scholarship Foundation.
She is the Medical Director of the AMA WA Foundation and is an advisor and mentor to the Dr YES program, the association’s preventative health program for youth.
“It is a privilege to serve on the Catholic Homes Board. Contributing to the provision of respectful and quality care for our older citizens is a significant responsibility," A/Prof Capolingua said.
"We must bear in mind their vulnerabilities and be thoughtful of their lived experiences and the role that we as aged care providers have in their lives. Alone, or shared with families or loved ones, this is a continuum of care that often takes us to the end of life. We must value and add value to each individual so that there is no room for loneliness or despair. There is much to challenge all of us.”
