First On 9news - Exclusive Coverage of TLC Healthcare’s Multigenerational Healthcare Precinct

on Tuesday, June 6, 2023

TLC Healthcare Mordialloc, Australia’s first multigenerational healthcare precinct, was exclusively covered by 9News Melbourne in both their 4pm and 6pm news bulletins on Monday, 5 June 2023.

In a live cross to 9News anchor, Alicia Loxley, TLC Healthcare CEO, Lou Pascuzzi, explained how his vision for a healthcare precinct that served all members of the community, regardless of their life stage, came to be.

Pascuzzi also outlined the many benefits of TLC’s intergenerational program, JELLYFISH, for both the residents of TLC Whitewater, and the children attending TLC Early Learning Mordialloc, both of which are co-located at the ground-breaking healthcare precinct.

Reporter Emily Rice, captured the joy of residents and children interacting through TLC’s intergenerational program, Jellyfish.

TLC CEO, Lou Pascuzzi said “Seeing the residents and children enjoying themselves in a structured learning environment as they engaged over storytelling, and an agility game on our massive interactive wall, brings a tear to your eye.

“It’s incredible to see the confidence and patience the children demonstrate with our elderly residents, and how they listen and learn from their wisdom and experiences. And the residents experience the joy of youth and can impart their knowledge and learnings to the younger generation, as they build bonds with their grand-friends”, added Pascuzzi.

Developed in collaboration with Melbourne University and Griffith University, the impact of TLC’s intergenerational program will be monitored and measured to ensure continuous improvement in outcomes and learnings for both the children and aged care residents participating in the program.
