Resthaven Chiton ‘First Look’ at $7.8m Redevelopment Plans

Members of Resthaven Chiton Retirement Living’s community have today had their first look at the new seven-star energy rating site development that will include additional Retirement Living Units, a garden reserve and parking area for caravans.

The village currently has 29 homes, and the $7.8 million development will see the construction of an additional 11 two-bedroom-plus-study units, each with high quality white goods, rainwater tanks, garages, and an area for parking caravans. Four of the units feature double garages and all dwellings have energy saving design features.

‘We’ve listened to our community and have planned the new venture in accordance with modern retirement living needs,’ Darren Birbeck, Resthaven CEO says.

Keeping with the green credentials of the village, the additional landscaping will use carefully selected plantings that complement the environmental rating of the village. New residents will have access to the community Lakehouse, with resident run bar area and kitchen, library, hall, gym and lounge areas, with a deck that opens out onto views of the local wetland and its abundant birdlife.

Builders have been invited to tender for the work, which is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2024.

Designs and floor plans are available for viewing on request for prospective new residents.
