On Sunday 2nd March over 40 Ibis Care staff took part in the Memory Walk to raise awareness and funds for Dementia Australia. Ibis Care staff took part in the 4.5km walk and 9km jog in Cronulla and raised over $4,000 for Dementia Australia.
La Stacey Baramy, CEO of Ibis Care says “Ibis Care is very proud of its staff for their effort in raising important funds so we decided to match their fundraising efforts by also making a donation of over $4,000. Collectively, we raised a total of $8,490.”
“In addition to raising a great deal of money to help beat dementia, our staff enjoyed a wonderful day together in the community that they serve in support of a good cause.”
“We support so many residents living with dementia, so this cause is very dear to our hearts,” adds Ms Baramy.
“Connecting with locals and representing many of the residents that we support has been very special.”
1.6 million carers, family members and friends are involved in the care of someone living with dementia in Australia. Donations from the Memory Walk will help to provide vital services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to find a cure.
Memory Walks are being hosted by Dementia Australia across more than 30 locations nationally. Ibis Care appreciates everyone who contributed to our fundraising efforts, we could not have done it without your support.
If you would like to help us raise more funds for people living with Dementia, you can still donate to an Ibis Care Memory Walk group here.
Ibis Care supports the ageing communities in the St George and Sutherland Shire which includes locations at Kirrawee, Blakehurst, Miranda, Mortdale and Bexley.
