Uniting DVA Nursing ACT/Southern Tablelands

DVA provides veterans and war widows and widowers with access to a range of health care and related services, including community nursing services. These services are delivered by Uniting’s Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and support staff to enhance independence and health outcomes and avoid early admission to hospital and/or residential care.

We can help you with:

• Nursing care
• Showering, dressing and grooming
• Medication management
• Health checks
• Wound care
• Continence management
• Managing chronic health issues
• Liaising with doctors and allied health
• Vaccinations
• Palliative care

Our team can also support you to learn more about the best ways to stay healthy, fit and strong and we can work with you to reach your goals, including managing your own health care needs.This service is available to older people who are Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Gold or White Card holders, have a disability, chronic illness, have been discharged early from hospital or are insurance recipients. DVA Gold and White Card holders have their fees fully covered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, so there's nothing to pay.
