Events: This Valentine’s Day…. Join the Fight Against Dementia

Alzheimer’s Australia will be asking Australians to do something different this year for Valentine’s Day, by planting a memory to help join the fight against dementia.

Alzheimer’s Australia will be running a Valentine’s Day event across all of Australia’s states and territories, where people will be invited to add a memory to a memory tree to show their support for Alzheimer’s Australia’s ‘Fight Dementia’ campaign.

 

Residential Aged Care: BlueCross Purchases Scotchman’s Creek Aged Care

BlueCross assumed ownership of Scotchman’s Creek Aged Care Residence in Mount Waverly last Friday (March 1).

The residence formally managed by Ageing Together is an extra service residence offering low care, high care, respite and dementia specific needs for 134 residents. The facility is set on five acres of parkland.

 

Aged Care Melbourne: Broadband for Seniors Internet Kiosk Opened

Aged Care Provider TLC Aged Care has been one of the first providers to implement the Australian Government’s Broadband for Seniors program, an initiative which seeks to provide senior Australians with access to computers.

The initiative seeks to address isolation and help senior Australians stay up to date with technology. TLC Aged Care opened an internet kiosk for its residents last week as part of the initiative.
