A Bundaberg retiree who dedicates herself to bringing joy to local aged care residents has been named Carinity Aged Care’s Volunteer of the Year.

Partnering with Dementia Australia, Dementia Week in September is a good time to recognise the exceptional work done every day by Regis Aged Care's team members. Residents, staff and families at Wesley Mission Queensland’s Parkview residential aged care community, located in Brisbane’s northern suburbs, celebrated Dementia Action Week last week with a concert of classic songs and instrumental performances.
80-year-old Necia Pearce had her own stall selling her handmade crochet items at Arcare Pimpama’s Spring Market Day on September 14, Saturday. She was able to fundraise approximately $442.50 for Cancer Council Australia.
