As we all know, voting in a federal election is compulsory for all Australian citizens (over 18), and can cause some stress and confusion for senior Australians living in residential aged care homes.
BaptistCare NSW & ACT is one of many aged care providers hoping the federal election will be a catalyst for change to safeguard affordable and quality aged care for future generations, as fresh research shows the sector remains top of mind for voters.
"The day I started working in aged care, is the day I fell in love with it," says Resthaven Home Support Worker, Robyn Jones. "I have been working in the aged care sector for around 20 years, a lot of that being in residential care."
On 9 May, Resthaven Malvern resident, Mrs Mary Philp, reaches her 100th milestone – owing it all to her family. "We have always been close. I grew up in Port Adelaide with my parents, and my maiden aunts lived right next door!"
