Located in Charlestown, nearby to entertainment, leisure and essential services, Amaroo offers homely accommodation in a secure and friendly environment. We want our residents to feel that they are part of a bigger family and that Amaroo is their home.

Our compassionate staff provide living support tailored to the individual, giving our residents choices that empower them to manage their daily lives as they please. With qualified nursing staff available around the clock, residents have peace of mind knowing that someone is always around to help.

ACCOMODATION

Amaroo is styled to create a warm and nurturing atmosphere where residents can come together or visit with family and friends in one of the many lounge rooms and sitting areas.

Our Extra Services accommodations provide for residents with low care and high care needs in a private suite with ensuite bathroom. In Extra Services, residents enjoy additional hotel-type service such as a higher standard of accommodation, increased meal choices and extra lifestyle activities.

Our high care nursing home provides shared accommodation for people who require increased assistance with their daily living needs in a nurturing environment.

CARE SERVICE

Our respite care service offers family and carers the opportunity to take a short break from their care responsibilities. Family can rest assured that their loved one is being well cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.

We provide low care services for people who need some assistance with their daily living activities, through to high care services for residents who need around the clock nursing assistance. Our team of compassionate nurses can also provide palliative care and support to the family when required.

LIFESTYLE

Some of the activities we offer include regular social outings for lunches or shopping excursions, concerts, fashion parades, pet therapy, sensory programs, games, movie sessions, arts and crafts, and themed events celebrating special occasions.

We also support our residents’ independence, encouraging them to stay connected with family, friends and the local community. Residents are welcome to go on private outings or stay overnight with family and friends. Staff will help residents get ready for these occasions and can arrange transport if required.

MEALS

Our menus are developed with the assistance of dietetic services to ensure adequate, balanced and delicious menu is offered. We also believe that a bit of indulgence now and then is good for the spirits.

All meals are freshly prepared on site by our dedicated catering staff and can be enjoyed in a number of dining areas or residents’ suites.

Residents in Extra Services accommodation enjoy a selection of menu options and may have a beer or wine with dinner. We can always cater for residents who may not like seasonal menu options, offering soup, salad or sandwiches if preferred.
