As a home ‘where life matters’, Bethsalem Care aims to provide appropriate care for residents’ needs, encouraging their independence while giving families and friends peace of mind. We provide ageing-in-place accommodation for 90 residents, offering Low Care and High Care including a dementia specific area with security where needed.
Resident rooms are a generous size, with en-suite facilities. To personalise rooms, we encourage residents to bring some of their own furniture as well as personal mementos.
Each of our four ‘Houses’ has its own Dining Room (maximum 24 seats), as well as nearby comfortable lounge areas. There are lovely courtyards and gardens to enjoy, and to walk in.
Residents may choose to participate in our varied activities program, including a special program for residents with dementia.
Bethsalem Care is supported by over 100 volunteers who enhance the lifestyle of residents and provide individual attention or group support.
Our lively Sails Café is a great place for residents, staff and visitors to mingle over coffee, or a tasty meal. It is open Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.
All rooms are purpose built and designed for single occupancy with personal ensuite with large windows providing natural lighting and delightful views either into manicured internal courtyards or to the extensive grounds and gardens that surround the home. Most rooms are carpeted and tastefully decorated. Resident's personal furniture is encouraged to create a personalised home like setting familiar to the resident. Our MAXIMUM published accommodation price has been set at $450,000. We are able to negotiate with each resident an agreed accommodation payment UP TO this amount, but we cannot charge more than this amount. We welcome and encourage you to talk to our consulting staff about what you can afford to pay to cover the cost of your accommodation in our home.

My wife Kathleen Jennifer Snow .( known as Jennifer), entered care at Bethsalem a little more than 1 year ago suffering from dementia. She is in a secure area and her care could not have been better. The staff are always helpful and provide a great deal of socialising and emotional support as well as physical and medical support . I visit 3 or 4 times a week and family visits on most other days ,so we see a lot of the operation of the home . We have great admiration for the care staff, the lifestyle staff and the nurses and Physiotherapists who do an extremely difficult task with grace, compassion and forbearance. The administration communicates well with the family and the organisation is flexible ,facilitating Jen attending events on site (childrens visits, concerts . church) which not all residentsa of the secure ward are up to ,, and most weeks . lunch at a cafe with family. The surrounding and embedded gardens are very good and much used Jennifer, with help , planted her own little raised garden bed and we visit it with her on many visits. I have sung the praises Bethsalem to many. I spent a fortnight of respite care with Jennifer in another nursing home and Jennifer spent some time in yet another one , but Bethsalem is much better for Jennifers needs.
I have been most happy with Bethsalem's care of my mother. The facility is staffed by friendly, caring people who provide a loving, friendly and family centred service to their residents. The facility has a very positive feel to it as soon as you enter the gates. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained, with each room having a view of nature, greenery or garden beds. I have found the staff to communicate well with family members in an effort to keep us informed of progress or deterioration. Their Christian ethos is apparent in the culture of the residence and can be seen in every area. I highly recommend Bethsalem Care Happy Valley
