Southern Cross Care WA Germanus Kent House sets a new standard in aged care homes in the North West. Located in Broome, Germanus Kent House is a state-of-the-art facility providing care and accommodation for 55 residents. Residents living with dementia are also supported.
The home features spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms, expansive living areas and dining rooms, emergency call systems and verandahs with views of the beautiful landscaped gardens.
Germanus Kent House was designed to incorporate the natural beauty and vibrant culture of the Kimberley region. Broome’s distinct way of life is reflected in the house’s earthy tones and floor to ceiling windows, which let in the magnificent tropical light and display the surrounding landscaped gardens.
Germanus Kent House provides accommodation and support to 55 residents and is conveniently located near a supermarket, chemist, post office, bank, local medical centre and hospital. The facility is co-located with Southern Cross Care’s Bran Nue Dae centre. It is only a short drive to the world-renowned Cable Beach where white sand, turquoise water and red soil epitomise the beauty of the Australian outback.
The home also provides short term respite accommodation, from one day to a number of weeks, providing peace of mind for carers. It can also be an important step in the smooth transition of the care recipient into permanent placement in the care facility.

Our well maintained single rooms are approximately 14 m2 and feature a shared bathroom between two adjoining single rooms and a verandah off each room.
They have been designed to create a warm, homelike environment and include a bedside table, built in wardrobe and personal storage space.
For the comfort of our residents, the rooms feature individually controlled reverse cycle air-conditioning as well as an electronic high/low adjustable bed. All rooms offer easy access to the communal areas, outdoor areas and the nurses’ station.
