There are a number of aspects to this facility. Apart from catering for community members requiring acute status nursing care, the facility also caters for clients requiring differing levels of assisted residential care. It caters for these needs in a holistic environment utilizing the ageing in place approach to client care.
 

The Hostel area of the complex provides assisted accommodation for 8 clients whose care requirements are of a low care/semi-independent nature. The environment consists of single rooms each with ensuite bathroom facilities and small kitchen area. There is a large communal dining room and two garden areas overlooking the local farmland.

The Nursing Home section of the complex caters for clients whose care needs are of a high care nature that require close monitoring by nursing staff. This section of the facility is located next to the nurses station where a Registered Nurse is in attendance 24 hours a day every day. There is a large dining area combined with a television entertainment area. There is a combination of single and double rooms in this area where the double rooms can provide accommodation for married couples.

The Special Care Unit opened in April 2004 and consists of 12 single rooms each with ensuite bathroom facilities. There is a large dining and lounge area that provides sufficient space for concerts and other large group activities. The SCU has 24 hour nursing staff in attendance to cater for the needs of clients with special care requirements. This is a secure area complete with a secure garden overlooking adjoining farmland.

The Diversional Therapy/Leisure & Lifestyle Team, consisting of staff and volunteers, assess the leisure and recreational preferences of individual clients with the aim to enhance the individual client’s wellbeing. Bus trips, concerts, happy hours, BBQs, craft and music are just some of the interests that the leisure and lifestyle team facilitate.

The Serenity Suite opened in September 2008, it is a specialized area and will not only cater for the client in Palliative Care status, but will provide their families and friends with a private area to be close to their loved one.
