Dementia Australia has just launched D-Esc, a new innovative virtual reality (VR) training workshop for de-escalating a behavioural emergency in a care setting. D-Esc provides an immersive simulation, designed for frontline and health care professionals, to adopt an interactive approach to de-escalation training. Participants will build empathy and understanding towards people with dementia, with the aim to reduce the use of restrictive practices and the number and severity of dangerous incidents in care.

Benetas and Andromeda Robotics Trial AI Robot at Altona Aged Care Home

Benetas has partnered with Andromeda Robotics to trial the use of an AI-powered robot to engage residents at St George’s aged care home in Altona. As part of the aged care provider’s extensive lifestyle program, the humanoid companion robot, known as Abi, will interact with residents over the next three months.

Bolton Clarke Acquires McKenzie Aged Care: Expanding Quality Services

McKenzie Aged Care has chosen Bolton Clarke as its new owner and operator. This agreement will see Bolton Clarke take over nine residential aged care homes and two retirement villages from McKenzie Aged Care.
