The Australian Minister for Health and Aged Care, Sussan Ley MP, and Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Ken Wyatt AM, MP this week announced the reappointment of Australia’s inaugural Aged Care Complaints Commissioner, Ms Rae Lamb, for a second term to January 2020.
Dementia is Australia’s second leading cause of death after heart disease. It’s one of Australia’s biggest, yet least understood conditions - with over 70 per cent of Australians admitting that they know very little about the disease. What’s more, almost half of the population do not realise that dementia is fatal. In fact, a quarter of us believe that it is just a normal part of ageing.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by Charles Sturt University (CSU) and Catholic Healthcare to further quality research into residential aged care.
