New robots could help elderly people lift five times the weight they can normally carry and perform daily tasks.

The Australian reported that a range of robots could make the lives of the elderly easier such as the 130cm-tall Human Support Robot.

Care Connect appointed Paul Martin as National LGBTI Project Officer last week.

The LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) Project Officer’s role is to advocate on behalf of the LGBTI community and build awareness and capacity of Care Connect’s aged care services  tailored  for this community.

 

Aged Care Industry: More than $50 million in Funding for Ageing Research

The Federal Government will provide $50 million in funding for research into dementia, macular degeneration and other age-related conditions.

The Minister for Mental Health and Ageing Mark Butler announced that 92 National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) would receive grants last Friday.
