Wesley Mission Queensland - Emmaus Village Aged Care Community

Set in the peaceful surrounds of Wheller Gardens Chermside, Wesley Mission Queensland  - Emmaus Village Aged Care Community has offered generations of seniors a caring community in which to live.

Designed around five interconnected courts, with walkways and large windows highlighting the natural outlook, Emmaus residents can feel a sense of space while being in a safe environment.

Each court has its own dining room and communal area, creating a lovely close-knit homely  atmosphere.

The spacious sunlit verandas that adorn each court are the perfect place to relax or spend time with family and friends.

Being an ageing in place home,  Emmaus staff are able to provide responsive and flexible care in line with each resident’s changing needs. This means that residents can often receive further care without having to leave familiar surrounds. 

All rooms are single and equipped with air conditioning, cabling for TV, phone and Wi-Fi services and offer a private toilet and basin, chest of drawers, built in wardrobe and dressing table. Full laundry services are also available, along with the ability to cater for specialised diets.

Emmaus staff are passionate about empowering residents to make their own choices, building relationships and helping residents live their lives with dignity and respect. They are committed to providing spontaneous and enjoyable activities and experiences for residents and their families.

In keeping with the Eden philosophy Emmaus has a dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator who offer a myriad of exciting and new activities and events. These include: bus excursions, arm chair travel, floral arrangement lessons, book club, theme days, the annual Emmaus fete, cooking and exercise classes, craft groups with high tea and visits from pets. 

A personal profile ensures all staff can respond to resident’s individual needs, including medical, cultural, religious and dietary. With 24-hour nursing staff on-site and a close relationship with our Allied Health Centre team, means staff can quickly respond to individual health needs in a holistic way

Residents can enjoy all the services and benefits of being part of the wider Wheller Gardens community which include: a bowling green, library, hair salon, cafe, chapel, community hall and the co-located Wheller Gardens Day Therapy Centre.

This convenient location allows residents to  access therapy services such as; podiatry, speech pathology or physiotherapy without leaving their residence. This provides a streamlined approach for care, with allied health staff easily and confidentially able to communicate with nursing staff to tailor support to residents.

Wheller Gardens is opportunely located in easy walking distance to public transport, Westfield shopping centre, multiplex cinemas, restaurants and the Kedron-Wavell  RSL and library hub. Residents enjoy the convenience of a Wheller Gardens bus for regular outings.

Emmaus has a dedicated team of nursing and hospitality staff, chaplains and many volunteers who make it their goal to brighten the lives of residents every day.
